Can I be honest with you? Unsung heroes of Chicago

The Chicago violence that's being reported is real. However, there's a whole other side of the story that doesn't get nearly as much exposure. The truth is there are a lot of individuals, groups, neighbors, organizations, etc. who love Chicago and are working everyday to do something about what's going on.

Two years ago, EEE had an opportunity to showcase our Summer training and employment programs, on a citywide scale. Here's a snippet of that event, which highlights the initiatives that our youth championed over the summer.

Kashanna Eiland is the co-founder and Executive Director of Empowerment through Education and Exposure, a nonprofit agency that promotes post-secondary education and career opportunities for Chicago youth. She is also a Social Impact Strategist and Speaker who helps socially conscious individuals and organizations bring their bright ideas to fruition.
